THE LAST DAY!

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County ended a successful Women Build Week working with a diverse group of community volunteers including local city council members (Margaret Black, Karen McCandless, and Kathryn Schramm), members of the Democratic Women of Utah County, Mariscal family members, students, Realtors, and Miss Orem.  These hard working volunteers worked together to finish the drywall in the kitchen and family room in the Springville Habitat home. Eagle Mountain Mayor, Heather Jackson, gave some inspirational remarks during lunch.  It was a fantastic end to a wonderful week!

Special thanks to Amy Roloff,  LeAnn Hillam, Lonny Woolbright, John Roberts, Craig Karren, Rachel Wyatt, and all the volunteers, supporters, and sponsors that helped to make this week a huge success!  We had a great week serving the Mariscal family and are already planning next year!

Business Kind of Day!

It was all business yesterday at Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Week event in Springville. Female volunteers from various local businesses worked together to shingle the roof and hang drywall at the project home.  Special thanks to Corporate Alliance for providing yummy Magelby lunches and giving the volunteers an opportunity to network during lunch!

A "HEALTHY" HOME!

Yesterday morning, Running with Angels author, Pam Hansen, joined 15 female health care professionals and staff from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center to hang drywall and shingle the roof at the Mariscal Habitat home in Springville as part of Habitat for Humanity of Utah County's Women Build Week.  The volunteers, including the local hospital's whole female radiology staff, accomplished a lot in the four hour shift - dry walling a bathroom and closet in the home and shingling the back side of the roof.  The volunteer build day was sponsored by Intermountain Health Care, the Utah Valley Health Care Foundation, and the Running with Angels 5K.

Paige Holland, wife of UVU President Matt Holland, joined female professors, students, and staff from both universities to hang drywall and shingle the roof at the Mariscal Habitat home in Springville.  Thanks to the UVU Women's Resource Center for hosting this great partnership event.  It was an awesome day!

It's All About the Community!

Yesterday, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County had a number of enthusiastic community women come out to volunteer as part of the National Women Build Week. The volunteers dry walled a room at the Mariscal home in Springville.  They had so much fun together that they all became instant Facebook friends!

ROLOFF'S LAST DAY IN UTAH!

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County's special guest, Amy Roloff from TLC's Little People, Big World, spent her last day in Utah today.  She started her day off early with an interview on Fox 13's morning news program (See interview at http://www.fox13now.com/videobeta/e256014c-15cc-4f8d-9fc7-a2d75a2cc3cf/News/Amy-Roloff-on-Habitat-for-Humanity-Women-Build-Week).  Following the interview, Amy and Habitat staff members took a scenic ride through Emigration Canyon and then met Steve and Katie Hatch from Hatch Family Chocolates for brunch and a little shopping in Park City.  We truly appreciate Amy's willingness to come to Utah in support of the local Women Build Week and the Mariscal Family!
