EARTH DAY DONATION!

Western Metals Recycling presented a check to Habitat for Humanity of Utah County ReStore Director, Rick McBride, today at their recycling site in Provo. The generous donation was determined based on the amount of scrap steel and non-ferrous metal that was recycled at company's Ironton location during April's Earth Day week. We appreciate Western Metals annual donation and their continued support of Habitat's local recycling programs.

Women Build Kickoff!

More than 30 women (and men) including World Cup and Olympic Skeleton Racer, Noelle Pikus Pace, her mother, Lowe's employees, Habitat board members, Habitat homeowners, and other community members volunteered on a Habitat for Humanity of Utah County construction site yesterday in recognition of National Women Build Week, May 4-12. Following a kickoff breakfast, the volunteers worked with special guest, Pikus Pace, to install windows and doors, do interior bracing, and put siding on a local Habitat home currently being built with the Artanduaga family in Provo. Volunteers also enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Five Star BBQ.

Now in its sixth year, National Women Build Week challenges women to devote at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities. Pikus Pace will be building with various community women at the home, located at 1042 North 950 West, Provo, throughout this coming week as part the annual event.
