"A Day at the Beach"

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County joined forces again this year with Neighborhood Housing Services of Provo and Rural Housing Development Corporation to sponsor the annual "Day at the Beach" event at the Freedom Festival in Provo during the Fourth of July weekend. CMC Utah brought their new and very red "Rocks Build Utah" sand trailer. It was quite an adventure getting the 30 foot trailer out of the Tabernacle Parking Lot and to its "back up" location on Center Street but eventually thousands of kids (and kids at heart) were able play in the sand and win prizes for finding colored rocks! In addition, Bank of American Fork blew up their big balloon and provided free balloons for kids while the staff of NHS, Rural and Habitat shared information about their programs with Festival goers! Our own intern Daniel even took at turn painting faces in the Kid's Art Yard. I think we are wasting his talent on the build site!
