HABITAT TO CELEBRATE 18TH BIRTHDAY
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will celebrate its 18th birthday on December 3, 2009. The local Habitat affiliate was affiliated in 1991 by a group of local community members that were concerned about substandard housing in the county. Since that time, the organization has been able to build or renovate 36 homes providing more than 57 adults and 120 children safe and affordable housing and a stable home environment. “The local Habitat affiliate has been blessed to work in such a caring and volunteer driven community for the last 18 years,” said Kena Jo Mathews, Executive Director, “We couldn’t do what we do without local community members that are so willing to give of their time, talents, and resources. We look forward to working together in the future as we strive to achieve our goal of eliminating inadequate shelter in Utah County and assist more area families in need.” The affiliate is currently building and renovating homes in Spanish Fork, Orem and Provo.
IT’S A WRAP! HABITAT TO SPONSOR HOLIDAY GIFT WRAP BOOTH AT LOCAL MALL
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will be sponsoring the annual “It’s A Wrap” gift wrapping booth at the Provo Towne Centre during the holiday season. Proceeds will benefit local families in need of safe and affordable homeownership. The gift wrap booth will be located near Sear’s on the main level and will be open Monday, November 30, 2009 through Christmas Eve.
HABITAT TO “SHARE” AT UVU GAME
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will be participating in Utah Valley University’s Community Share Day on December 5, 2009 during the Men’s Basketball Game against San Jose State starting at 2:00 p.m. Habitat will be having a booth at the game showcasing its affordable housing and recycling programs. Additionally, those making a donation to the local Habitat affiliate prior to the game will receive four free general admission tickets.
