COME FIND OUT HOW TO QUALIFY FOR A HABITAT HOME!
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will be holding its annual orientation meetings for home applications in February at the Utah Valley Home Builders Association located at 1443 West 800 North, Orem. Community members who are interested in applying for the Habitat program will need to come to one of the following meetings for applications and more information: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.; Friday, February 19, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.; Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. No registration required. WELCOME TO HAMMER TOWNE! PRESIDENT’S DAY EDITION!
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County and the Provo Towne Centre will sponsor their fourth “Welcome to Hammer Towne – President’s Day” event on Monday, February 15, 2010 from 12-5. The Habitat awareness event will be held throughout the Provo mall and will include information tables about affiliate programs, fun youth activities, free popcorn, drinks, giveaways, and visits from Bob the Builder and the Green Fiber Frog. Special thanks to Sun Roc, Panda Express, Cinemark, Green Fiber Insulation and General Growth Properties to making this event possible.

EAT AT PANDA EXPRESS AND HELP HABITAT

Panda Express will be hosting a community fundraising event for the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate on Monday, February 15, 2010 at its Provo Towne Centre Mall food court location. This is a special donations event where every customer who brings in an event flyer from 12-5 will have their receipt tallied for a 20% donation to the local Habitat affiliate. Flyers can be found on the Habitat website at www.habitatuc.org or picked up at one of the Habitat Hammer Towne booths at the mall on the day of the event. Print out the flyer, bring your family, eat lunch or dinner, and help those in need of safe and affordable housing in our community.

FLASH PLAYERS TO TRADE BASKETBALL FOR DRYWALL
Utah FLASH players and coaches will be taking a break from practice to hang drywall and help put up siding at a local Habitat home currently being renovated with Seralina Danielson and her two children. The special build day will take place on Monday, February 22, 2010 at noon at 558 East 300 South in Provo. This is the third local Habitat home that the Utah FLASH organization has assisted with since the team came to Utah.

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County is a non-profit, ecumenical organization and is one of more than 2,300 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International. The local affiliate is committed to eliminating poverty housing and homelessness in the county by building or renovating simple, decent homes with area residents in need of affordable shelter. Affiliated in 1991 by a group of local community members that were concerned about substandard housing in the county, the organization has built or renovated 37 homes providing more than 59 adults and 121 children safe and affordable housing and a stable home environment.
