An Inspirational Evening in the Outdoors!

Over 60 community members attended Habitat for Humanity of Utah County's Annual Day of Prayer event this evening outdoors at the Blitz Build Site in Payson. Reverend Daniel Haas, Habitat Board President, Johnny McCoy, Payson South LDS Stake President, Wayne Pullan, and Habitat partner family member, Allison Fullmer, provided thoughtful and inspiring words. Haas also encouraged people to throw a piece of bread into a stream (created by a hose and water) and let go of their cares and concerns. Chaplain Linda Walton and Pastors Logan Wolf and Mark Gering, offered prayers of gratitude and service. Well known soloist, Serena Kanig Benish, and American Idol Alum, Steve Dunford, shared their talents through uplifting music. We appreciate all those that attended and participated in the moving evening. We would also like to thank Pastor Haas for encouraging us to hold the event on a Habitat build site. It was the perfect backdrop for this inspirational service.

The International Day of Prayer and Action, observed every year in September, is a time when the entire Habitat for Humanity community is urged to come together in prayer for those in need of shelter. Through prayer, Habitat for Humanity continues to make a dramatic difference in the lives of people around the world. Many volunteers are drawn to this ministry after hearing God’s call and seeking God’s guidance through prayer. Other prayers are answered when families and communities grow in the shelter of God’s grace. The hurdles of funding and building homes are overcome through the miracles of prayer.
