CYCLISTS PEDAL INTO PROVO TO HELP HABITAT

Cyclists from all around the country pedaled into Provo this past week to help Habitat for Humanity of Utah County with the restoration and renovation of the George Taylor, Jr. home in Provo. The riders helped with lead abatement and demolition at the home, located at 187 North 400 West, on Thursday, July 18, 2013.

The cyclists are part of the national Bike and Build program and are riding their bikes across the country to raise funding and awareness to end poverty housing. The 28 young adults started their long journey in Charleston, South Carolina in May and will log over 4,000 miles before they reach their destination of Santa Cruz, California in mid- August. Special thanks to the Provo Seventh Day Adventist Church for hosting the cyclists at their Community Center and to Sensuous Sandwich for generously providing a dinner meal for the volunteers.

The cyclists were recognized for their local service efforts on the front page of the Daily Herald on Friday. Check the out the link at http://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/bike-and-build-cyclists-work-with-habitat-for-humanity/article_c184f841-6173-587a-bcf5-7f6f3f6b7dbb.html.
