HABITAT CELEBRATES START OF WASHBURN REAMS ESTATES PROJECT

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County celebrated the beginning of its Washburn Reams Estates Project with a kickoff event this past Friday. Orem Richard Brunst and Jones Excavating Co., Bob Jones, both spoke at the celebration. Jones’ staff also dug dirt with big machinery signifying the start of the project. Two of the three Habitat families (Aleman and Fissapeau) selected to build project homes were in attendance as well as members of the Washburn family and the Orem City Council.

The first of its kind planned unit development, located at 525 North 1060 West, Orem, will include three new energy efficient homes designed by biome design. The development is being named in memory of Mayor Jerry Washburn and City Manager Jim Reams and is sponsored by Jones Excavating, Orem City, Utah Valley Consortium, ALM and Associates, the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, TD Ameritrade, Evtech, IM Flash and many other wonderful community sponsors and supporters. Home construction will begin in mid-September.
