A WEEK OF KINDNESS!

This past week, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County participated in Habitat International's first national A Brush with Kindness Week (ABWK). The purpose of ABWK is to transform neighborhoods by painting, providing minor repairs to home exteriors, landscaping and cleaning up yards in partnership with low-income homeowners. Nearly 40 affiliates across more than 25 states participated in the event week from September 19-26, partnering with more than 130 low-income families on home preservation projects. Valspar and Wells Fargo were supporters and sponsors of this event.

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County volunteers from Utah Valley University and Wells Fargo provided 130 combined hours of service during ABWK for three low-income families in Orem. The selected projects included yard cleanup, landscaping and exterior painting. Volunteers also found time to clean-up the yards of other families in the neighborhood, making a real difference for the entire community.
