Saturday's Theme - Paint!

Despite the rain and cold, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County sponsored two paint related service projects on Saturday. Volunteers from Habitat's BYU Chapter and the Utah County's Jail Work Diversion Program helped with the Utah County's Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day at Provo Towne Centre. Donned in white zoot suites, the volunteers collected and sorted paint that had been dropped off by community residents. Some of the paint will be used in Habitat's paint recycling program.

Across town, players from UVU's Basketball Team and staff from the UVU Athletic Department helped to paint the front room, kitchen, dining room, and hallways at the Alpine House, a transitional home for those suffering from mental illness, in downtown Provo. Needless to day, no ladders were needed! Habitat is working with the Alpine House to assist with some renovation efforts as part of the affiliate's Neighborhood Revitalization Program.
