KICKOFF PLANNED FOR ONE MONTH HABITAT BUILD Habitat for Humanity of Utah County will be building a new Habitat home in Orem with a local family in need of safe and affordable housing. To kick off this one month build, the local affiliate will be holding a groundbreaking celebration at noon on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 268 West Foxmoor Drive (580 North), Orem. Lunch will be served. All interested community members are invited to attend.
The four bedroom, two bathroom home is being built with Lee and Tia Webb and their four children and is being sponsored by ABC4 Utah, Check City, and KOSY 106.5.
Volunteers are currently being sought to help build the home. Build day shifts are available Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting in March. Sign up online at http://habitatuc.volunteerhub.
DONATE A VEHICLE AND HELP A FAMILY REALIZE THEIR HOMEOWNERSHIP DREAM! Donations of cars, trucks, boats or RVs are being sought for Habitat for Humanity's Cars for Homes program. The donated cars will be removed at no expense to the owner and are auctioned to recyclers or salvage yards. The metal and car pieces of the auctioned cars are recycled, and the money gained from the auctions will be used to build homes in our local community. Those donating can also qualify for tax deductions in addition to serving the community. To donate vehicles, call (877) 277-4344 toll free or look online at www.habitat.org. For more information, you can also contact Kena Jo Mathews at (801) 344-8527 or visit www.habitatuc.org. |
