Utah Valley University students and Habitat for Humanity of Utah County joined together on Saturday to participate in Make A Difference Day, a national event uniting volunteers across the country in improving the lives of others.
UVU’s Volunteer & Service-Learning Center partnered with the local Habitat affiliate on four projects. Students helped to put TyeRay Community Garden in Provo to bed for the winter, helped a disabled Habitat homeowner with some yard maintenance needs, participated in a Housing Honk and Wave promoting the Utah County Housing First Fund at the Wal-mart in Orem, and did final clean up at Orem City’s All Together Playground getting it ready for a ribbon cutting celebration later in the afternoon.
Habitat loves working with UVU and appreciates all the students, faculty, and staff do to support our affordable housing mission.
