Habitat for Humanity of Utah Count is partnering with A Warrior’s Family, the American Legion, the Veterans Services Community Council, and the Utah County Tiny Home Coalition to provide a tiny home for a Veteran in need in our community. The micro home is being built for Steve. Steve is a Utah Veteran that currently works two jobs and is living in an unsuitable camper on his property in Indianola.
The tiny home is being designed by MicroHomes of Utah and is being constructed at their facility in Orem. The home is being equipped with everything to live completely off grid, will be furnished by the Utah Girls Love You Foundation, and will be placed on Steve’s property in mid-November.
Habitat is helping to provide material, a water collection system, and tools for the project. Habitat’s Construction Manager also supervised volunteers from Adobe this week for two days at the MicroHomes facility. Employee volunteers installed siding and helped to paint the exterior of the home as part of the company’s Veterans Week activities. We are excited to be able to serve someone that has given so much for his country and help provide him simple, decent housing.
