A Busy, Busy Week!

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County had crazy busy week full of mission driven activities. In addition to working with volunteers during National Women Build Week to frame the Harter/Blackham home in Provo, Habitat also sponsored its first Police Picnic of the season on Tuesday evening. Franklin residents enjoyed a hot dog meal with some of Provo's finest at Habitat's Hope on 5th project in Provo's Franklin Neighborhood. Neighbors had the opportunity to meet and share concerns with their new Community Police Officer, Carter Grow. On Friday, Habitat celebrated the end of its 10th Annual National Women Build Week with a big culmination party. Women Build participants enjoyed tasty funnel cakes from the Other Side Academy, music by Craig Conover, and fun door prizes. On Saturday, Habitat worked with Provo's Maeser Neighborhood to kick off their mural revitalization project in the Maeser Park on 600 South. Neighbors worked to power wash and scrape the mural wall prepping it for a new mural to be painted. Also on Saturday morning, ION Solar employees generously donated and installed a solar panel system on a Habitat renovation home in Orem as part of their new ION Earth initiative. The solar company employees also created some beautiful planters for the porch, planted flowers at the front of the home, and left a Mother's Day gift and card for the new homeowner, a single mom with three children. Special thanks to all those that made these activities possible and successful! We truly work in a wonderful community!
