Habitat for Humanity of Utah County partnered again this year with the Utah County Health Department to bring awareness about radon to the community. The organizations sponsored an informational garage booth inside one of the Utah Valley Parade of Homes homes in Vineyard. They also provided "green" booties for those touring the home. Green is the color used to promote radon nationally. Ironically, people thought the "green" was because our booth was inside the Wolverine home that was built to raise funds for the UVU Construction Management program. It did, however, generate a lot great discussion. We appreciate the Utah Valley Home Builders Association for generously providing us the booth free of charge. It is a great opportunity to share information about the cancer causing gas and encourage testing. To find out more about radon, look online at www.habitatuc.org/radon.htm.
