Habitat for Humanity of Utah County joined Provo’s Maeser Neighborhood to celebrate the completion of the Maeser Park Mural Renovation this past week at the last Police Picnic of the season. Residents enjoyed a picnic meal while viewing the mural, listening to mural artist, Alex Vaughn, and meeting with Provo Community Police Officers.
The aging mural, located on the 300-foot cinder block wall on the north side of the Maeser Park, was completely revamped over the summer by neighborhood residents, community volunteers, and help from Habitat for Humanity of Utah County staff. Over 600 hours were given planning, prepping, priming, and painting the mural. The new design is bright, easily visible, and includes a sego lily, a beehive, the June Sucker, a train, bright colors, and simple shapes. Stop by and check it out at 451 East 600 South in Provo!
