HABITAT CUTS RIBBON ON THIRD RENOVATION HOME
Habitat for Humanity of Utah County celebrated the completion of its third renovation home on Saturday, April 11th. Over 50 people joined the Norman family as they cut the ribbon on their new home, located at 180 West 500 North, Spanish Fork.
RESTORE CELEBRATES 2ND BIRTHDAY, UNVEILS NEW STORE LOCATION
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore celebrated its second birthday with a cake cutting this past Friday. In addition to celebrating the store's success, the affiliate unveiled plans and announced that the store and the affiliate offices would be moving to a bigger building in Orem in July or August. The 21,500 square foot building, located at 340 South Orem Blvd., is currently being renovated.
CAR WASH - A "SPLASHIN" GOOD TIME!
Students from Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University took a break from studying for finals to wash cars this past Saturday at the Habitat ReStore. The Earth Day Car Wash was held to promote Habitat's vehicle donation program and other recycling programs. The students had a great time drumming up business and having a continuous water fight! They even raised over $140.00 washing cars! Special thanks to All Tune and Lube and Central Utah Enterprises for sponsoring the event.
FAMILY TO BE FEATURED ON OPRAH PROVIDES HABITAT SERVICE
The Walker family from Pleasant Grove who was recently selected to be featured on the Oprah Winfrey show provided service for the local Habitat affiliate on Saturday. The family, who is going without any electronics for 7 days as part of the feature, sorted paint at the ReStore and helped build a can collection house for the Cans for Habitat program. The family will also be helping with construction at the Webb home later in the week. Watch for the upcoming Oprah episode - the local affiliate may receive nationwide coverage!
