WHOLE NEW HABITAT! HABITAT HOLDS YEAR IN REVIEW MEETING!

Habitat for Humanity of Utah County held its annual meeting last Tuesday at the Zions Bank Rock Canyon Room in Provo and shared some astounding facts and figures from this past fiscal year with those in attendance. These facts and figures included some of the following:

· Habitat has had over 3,200 individuals donate over 15,400 hours of service to help us with projects related to building, renovating and repairing homes for people in need.

· MVP Club members have provided us with many donated and discounted services and materials helping the organization to save more than $222,400 on construction costs!

· Habitat launched our new three year strategic plan, developed with the help of Dr. Paul Godfrey from BYU and updated our mission and vision. The new mission is “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Utah County helps lift people, fosters hope, and unites diverse groups to improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities by building, renovating, and repairing homes.” The new vision is to have Utah Valley free from poverty housing.

· Due to the success of the Orem and Spanish Fork ReStores, Habitat is activiely looking for a North County location for a third Utah Valley ReStore. When all three ReStores are operating, it is expected that they will generate enough funding to cover all our operating costs for the stores and the affiliate - meaning every dollar you donate will go directly to the people in need—and we plan to more than double families helped annually within five years!

Other events and people were highlighted during the evening including Utah Valley University who helped the affiliate build its 55th Utah Valley home in Springville and the participation of First Lady, Jeanette Herbert, at this year’s National Women Build Week at the George Taylor, Jr. Renovation and Restoration Home in Provo.

Our new Executive Board Members, including Chairperson Brad Simon, Vice Chairperson Gary Jensen, Secretary Jeanne Walker, Treasurer Kelly Palmer, are excited to help with Habitat’s projects in the coming year.

We thank all of your support on helping us to create homes for generations to come!
